{Sneak Peek} Holiday Photos

I mentioned last week at the end of my Shutterfly plug that we were having our pictures taken last weekend.  I've only seen five of the pictures so far, but I couldn't be happier with the results.  I think we (and by "we", I mean the twins) shocked the photographer with how active "we" were.  She was great with the boys and I'm thinking she got some really beautiful pictures (muddy knees, and all).   She created a few holiday 'sets' at a campground near our home... Think little log cabins in the woods, rocking chairs, pine cones, ornaments and Christmas lights.  It looked so homey and inviting.  I loved it.
Here are some of the photos she shared. Stay tuned for more ;)

I told you.  They're so handsome, aren't they? Now I just need to be patient and wait for the rest, and then pick out the winning photo that makes our family Christmas card this year.  (...and maybe a new blog header?)

Christmas Cards from Shutterfly

Halloween is over, and as far as I'm concerned, we can just skip right past Thanksgiving (although I'm thankful for lots!) and head right on to Christmas!   To say I love the Christmas season is a HUGE  understatement.  I may or may not have already listened to some holiday favorites on my ipod at work.  OK, I definitly did.  Just this week.   ...and maybe last week, too.

I'm big on sending out Christmas cards... I used to make them every year, and incorporate pictures of my 1, then 2, now 3 dogs.  Since having the boys, the dogs have never been happier.  They no longer are foced to wear antlers, santa hats or be wrapped in Christmas lights. (I can assure you that they are just as happy about the Halloween situation, too!)

In this digital age, I turn to Shutterfly for my Christmas cards.   It's super easy peasy to upload you favorite images and create beautiful cards that I guarantee you will get compliments on.

Here are just a few of my favorites....and I have a lot of favorites!  There are literally HUNDREDS to choose from!

Shutterfly also makes awesome photo calendars, mugs and books!  I haven't ordered any mugs, but I've orderd numerous calendars and photo books and am always extremely pleased with their top-notch quality.

Now wish us luck on our family photo shoot this upcoming weekend.  My goal is to have one shot with everyone looking in the same direction. Smiles would be nice, too, but I'm aiming low, and just hoping that every shot isn't a blurred image of us chasing the twins around!

Belated Halloween Update

Happy Belated Halloween!
The boys did GREAT Trick-or-Treating.

Here are some facts about our Halloween experience this year:
1. The boys didn't carve their pumpkins; Dan and I did.   They really wanted to hold the pumpkin knives, but didn't want to touch the pumpkin or it's guts.

2. These were our second set of pumpkins.  The first two pumpkins were much smaller, but rotted weeks earlier because Andrew took bites out of them at the pumpkin farm (which is why we originally {had to} buy such tiny pumpkins.) Blessing in disguise, I guess...wouldn't have been able to carve those teeny-tiny ones.

3.  Both of the boys cried hysterically when we told them that they were supposed to leave their pumpkins outside on the porch.  I think they wanted them to sleep in their beds with them.

4.  Wesley was a lion, Andrew was a penguin.  Cutest kids ever ;)

5.  Wesley and Andrew both practiced how to go up to a door and say, "Trick or Treat!"  Too bad we didn't practice turning around and leaving.  There was a lot of awkward post-candy-receiving lingering.

6.  Even though we DID practice saying "Thank You" for the candy, we didn't discuss what gluttony was.  Andrew actually told a home owner "...but I want more" after only one piece of candy was dropped in his bag.  Whoops!  My bad!

Hope you had a safe Halloween with your little ones.

PS:  Hi Miss Sandy Sandi :)  Thanks for stopping by Double the Giggles ;)
